Brian Khrisna's novel Sisi Tergelap Surga (The Darkest Side of Heaven) presents the story of characters struggling in the harshness of city life, with various inner conflicts and social issues that reflect the reality of lower-class society. This study aims to identify the moral values contained in the novel and explore their relationship to Indonesian language learning in schools. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with content analysis techniques. Data were collected through intensive reading of the novel text, recording quotations containing moral values, and then grouping them into three types of relationships: humans with themselves, humans with others, and humans with God. The research instrument was a moral value classification table. Based on the analysis, several values were found, such as empathy, responsibility, honesty, justice, determination, and sacrifice. These values are displayed through the attitudes, dialogues of the characters, and the story's setting, which clearly depicts social inequality. This study concludes that this novel has great potential to be used as teaching material in literature learning in Indonesian language classes, especially in efforts to instill character values in accordance with the spirit of the Independent Curriculum. The novel <em>Dompet Ayah Sepatu Ibu</em> by J.S. Khairen presents the story of characters struggling through life’s limitations, rich in humanitarian and spiritual values. This study aims to describe the moral values contained in the novel and examine their relevance to Indonesian language learning in schools. The approach used in this research is descriptive qualitative with content analysis as the primary method. Data were collected through in-depth reading of the novel, noting quotations that contain moral values, and categorizing them accordingly. The research instrument used was a moral value classification table that includes individual, social, and religious moral categories. The findings show that there are 100 instances of moral values in the novel, including optimism, responsibility, empathy, sacrifice, honesty, social care, prayer, gratitude, and faith. These values are reflected through the actions and dialogues of the main characters, as well as the settings and situations that represent social realities relevant to students' lives. The conclusion of this study states that the novel holds great potential as a literary resource in Indonesian language learning, particularly for instilling character values aligned with the principles of the Merdeka Curriculum</p> Asep Mulyana, Astuti Samosir, Suyekti Kinanthi Rejeki Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Pendidikan Impola https://www.publishing.impola.co.id/index.php/JPI/article/view/173 Fri, 28 Nov 2025 00:00:00 +0700 Pengaruh Penguasaan Kosakata Terhadap Keterampilan Menulis Siswa Kelas VIII Di SMP PGRI Jatisampurna https://www.publishing.impola.co.id/index.php/JPI/article/view/167 <p>Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penguasaan kosakata terhadap keterampilan menulis cerpen siswa kelas VIII di SMP PGRI Jatisampurna. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan teknik survei dan analisis korelasional. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 94 siswa dari total populasi 122 siswa kelas VIII. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes pilihan ganda untuk mengukur penguasaan kosakata dan tes unjuk kerja menulis cerpen untuk mengukur keterampilan menulis. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, diketahui bahwa nilai tertinggi untuk penguasaan kosakata adalah 98 dan nilai terendah adalah 50, sedangkan rata-rata nilai keterampilan menulis cerpen adalah 77,76. Rhitung penelitian ini sebesar 0,203 dengan jumlah responden 94. Adapun nilai cronbach’s alpha sebesar 0,811. Hasil uji normalitas variabel penguasaan kosakata dan keterampilan&nbsp; menulis cerpen adalah 0,113 &gt; 0.05 maka hasilnya berdistribusi normal. Sedangkan hasil uji linearitas memberoleh nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,056 &gt; 0,05. Dan Hasil uji analisis linier sederhana diperoleh nilai Koefisien Determinasi pada nilai R Square (r2) sebesar 0,641 yang artinya besar prosentase pengaruh penguasaan kosakata terhadap keterampilan menulis cerpen siswa kelas VIII sebesar 64,1%, % sedangkan sisanya sebesar 35,9% dipengaruhi oleh faktor-faktor lain di antaranya, yaitu: minat dan motivasi menulis, kebiasaan membaca, dan penguasaan kaidah kebahasaan.
